Students will improve conversational, reading, writing and listening skills. Students will read several short stories by Camus and discuss the stories in class. Students will be assigned 7-10 pages per week, along with reading comprehension questions. Listening to and discussing popular French music is also an intricate part of the course. Students will reinforce all verb tenses and grammatical structures through study and discussion of literature and music.
This semester, we’ll be reading Sartre’s Les Jeux sont faits. Grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation will be refined on a daily basis as the novel is discussed.
Introduction to French Music
Students will improve their French by listening to, translating and discussing French music. This course is intended for students who have completed Intermediate French or the equivalent. Please contact the instructor for details.
