Advanced classes are intended for students who have completed Intermediate French or the equivalent, and are looking to continue practicing and refining their use of the French language.



Advanced Grammar and Conversation – fall session

Learn how to:

Express yourself in the past, present and future indicative tenses with greater clarity

Discuss a wider variety of topics

Express what would, should and could have happened (past conditional), what will have happened (future perfect) and what had already happened (past perfect) before another past event.

Reinforce/refine uses of le passé composé and l’imparfait

Discuss a variety of topics using more advanced grammar

Advanced Grammar and Conversation – spring session

Learn how to:

Speak and write with greater clarity on a variety of topics

Speak and write in a more nuanced way

Avoid common mistakes in advanced grammar

Grammar

Refinement of commonly misused grammatical structures, such as articles, prepositions, the indefinite, impersonal expressions, reflexive vs. object pronouns, etc.


Advanced French : Conversation and Music – summer session

In this course, students will engage in class discussions in French and also listen to, translate, analyze and discuss popular French music. Prerequisite: Intermediate French or higher.
