Merci Train Celebration
FREE AND OPEN TO ALL
The Merci Train was sent from France to the United States after World War II in thanks for the US support during and after the war. A boxcar filled with gifts from the people of France was sent to each US state as a token of appreciation.
Join us for a special commemoration celebrating the enduring friendship between France and the United States. This meaningful event is organized by the 40 & 8 Society, a veterans' organization dedicated to preserving and promoting this important piece of history.
Event Highlights
Representatives from both France and New Hampshire will come together to honor our nations' longstanding alliance. This year's celebration holds particular significance as we commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Lafayette's Farewell Tour of the United States
