The Beliveau Arts Series brings the very best in performing, visual, and literary arts directly to our community—a living tribute to two remarkable artists who believed in the power of creativity to transform lives.

Thanks to the generous bequest from Maurice Beliveau, whose paintings captured beauty and meaning, and Janet Beliveau, accomplished pianist and patron of the arts, the Franco-American Centre (FACNH) is thrilled to launch this exciting new series. Every performance, exhibition, and reading honors their memory while creating fresh opportunities for our community to experience world-class artistry.

The Beliveau Arts Series returns with a chilling evening that explores the world of horror through the voices of authors and artists connected to French-Canadian and Franco-American heritage.

Join us for a moderated discussion exploring the inspirations, creative processes, and themes behind chilling tales of suspense, supernatural terror, and dark imagination.

Moderator & author:

J. Edwin Buja, author of The King of the Wood, The Consort, Enough Time, and Coverdale, whose work spans horror, thriller, and dark fiction genres. Buja will also serve as moderator for the discussion, sharing insights into his own work while guiding the conversation among the featured authors

Featured creators:

J-F. Dubeau, a Montreal-based author known for his acclaimed horror and dark fiction. His novels include A God in the Shed and The Life Engineered, works that blend supernatural terror, suspense, and imaginative world-building;

Tony Tremblay, a Manchester-area writer and lifelong Franco-American whose six horror novels set in Goffstown, New Hampshire, have been nominated for multiple genre awards and have appeared on numerous horror fiction top-ten lists; and

François Vaillancourt, a Montreal-based illustrator whose atmospheric digital artwork has accompanied stories by renowned authors including Stephen King, Joe Hill, Dean Koontz, and Robert McCammon.

Following the discussion, attendees will have the opportunity to meet the authors and artist, ask questions, and purchase signed books and artwork.
