What a Celebration!
The inaugural Franco Fest was a wonderful celebration of the many cultures, traditions, and communities connected through the French language. Franco Fest was created to showcase the incredible diversity and reach of French language and culture around the world, bringing people together through music, food, art, traditions, and community.
And what a day it was!
Three incredible performers brought their own energy, traditions, and musical styles to the festival, offering a beautiful mix that highlighted just how broad the reach of French language and culture truly is. From the rhythms of Louisiana to the sounds and traditions of West Africa and beyond, the stage reflected the rich diversity of the International Francophonie.
Set among the beautiful grounds of Kimball Jenkins Estate, Franco Fest found a welcoming and relaxed home that was perfectly suited to a family-friendly celebration. The setting encouraged guests to settle in, enjoy the music, settle in for a picnic , and spend the day together.
As a free community event, Franco Fest welcomed people of all ages and backgrounds. Families, friends, longtime members of the French-speaking community, and those simply curious to discover something new came together and enjoyed the day, connected by a shared appreciation for French language and culture.
There was plenty for our youngest festivalgoers to enjoy, too! Kids of all ages tried their hand at playing the spoons, created henna designs, and decorated tiles inspired by artistic traditions from countries and regions across the International Francophonie.
Most importantly, Franco Fest created a space where people could come together, discover, celebrate, and connect.
We are already looking forward to next year's festival and all the possibilities ahead!
