Community Grants
The Franco-American Centre is proud to support individuals, educators, students, artists, researchers, and organizations working to strengthen connections to French language, culture, and heritage. Through our Community Grants, we provide funding for projects and learning opportunities that help preserve, promote, and celebrate these traditions in New Hampshire and beyond.
We offer two grant opportunities, each designed to support a different kind of experience. Whether you have an idea for a community project or are looking to deepen your French through an immersive experience, we encourage you to explore the opportunities below.
Grants & Funding Opportunities
General Grant Information
The following information applies to both Grant opportunities.
Funding
Grant awards are dependent upon available funding. The Franco-American Centre may award full funding, partial funding, or no funding based on the strength of applications and available resources.
Recipient Responsibilities
Grant recipients are expected to:

Complete the approved project or program as proposed
-
Notify the Franco-American Centre of significant changes
-
Acknowledge the Franco-American Centre's support in appropriate materials
-
Submit a final report within 60 days of completing the project or experience
-
Provide a summary of outcomes along with appropriate photos, supporting materials, and financial information, as applicable
-
Share their experience or results with the Franco-American Centre through an event, article, photo essay, video, or other approved outreach when appropriate
The Franco-American Centre may share recipient stories, outcomes, and materials as part of its educational and community outreach.

*For Immersion Program Grant recipients, the approved program should be completed within one year of receiving the award unless an extension is approved.

FAC Project Grant
Supporting ideas that bring French language, culture, and heritage to life.
The Franco-American Centre Project Grant supports innovative projects that advance our mission and create meaningful, lasting impact through education, cultural engagement, historical preservation, or community outreach.
Who Can Apply
Applicants may include:

Students, with sponsorship when appropriate

Individuals whose work aligns with the mission of the Franco-American Centre
Membership is not required to apply. Preference may be given to projects that directly benefit the Franco-American community in New Hampshire or advance French language, culture, and heritage in the state.

Grant Amount
Awards of up to $5,000 may be available annually, subject to funding. The grant committee may provide full funding, partial funding, or determine that an application cannot be funded.

FAC Immersion Program Grant
Supporting meaningful experiences that deepen French-language learning.
The Franco-American Centre Immersion Program Grant provides financial assistance to students, educators, and lifelong learners participating in meaningful French-language immersion experiences in the United States or abroad.
Immersion can be transformative at any age or level of proficiency. We seek applicants who demonstrate enthusiasm for French language and culture, a commitment to learning, and a desire to bring what they gain from their experience back to their schools, workplaces, families, and communities.

For students, a transcript and information about their current French course, when applicable
